-Games begin at 6:00 pm with no inning beginning after 8:05 pm
according to the umpire's watch. A team must have 8 players ready to
play by 6:15 or forfeit the game. Late players maybe inserted into
the line-up at the bottom of the order.
-Games are 7 innings and all players must play a minimum of 3
innings in the field.
-All games will be played according to the League's schedule.
Managers are not permitted to change the date of a game without
Board approval. Rain outs will be determined by the Board or its
designated representative.
-The League will follow a fixed schedule. That is, if a game is
canceled it will be played at the end if the season if time permits.
The team with the best record at the end of the season will be the
League champion. In the event of a tie, the champion will be
determined based on their head-to-head record.
-No player will be allowed to play without a team shirt. No
jewelery shall be worn.
-Managers will require all players to place their names on
equipment (particularly gloves, bats and visors) that they may bring
to a game.
-Once the rosters are established, no new players may enter the
league without the permission of the Board.
-The distance from home plate to the mound is 40 feet. Base paths
are 60 feet. The HOME team is responsible for measuring and setting
up the bases.
-Only 9 players are allowed on the field.
-A pitcher is allowed to pitch a maximum of 4 innings/games and a
total of 7 innings in the last 7 days. If a player pitches or has
pitched for another league (travel or school), she may not pitch in
the recreational league.
-A pitcher may be inserted once into the game. Other players,
including a pitcher playing another position, may be inserted into
the game as often as the manager wishes. Fast pitch will apply
except that the pitcher may start with one foot on the rubber.
Windmill is permitted, but not a side-way delivery.
-There is no dropped third strike rule.
-Stealing is not allowed/ Bunting is not allowed.
-The infield fly rule will not be used.
-A runner may not leave the base until the ball has left the
pitcher's hand. If she leaves early, she will be called out.
-If the ball is overthrown, past the backstop or wing lines, a
runner is awarded 1 base.
-Batting helmets (with chin straps and face guard) must be worn
at all times when the batter is on-deck or on-base.
-All players will be included in the batting whether or not they
are playing in the field.
-An inning will be over with 3 outs or 6 runs. The six run rule
is in effect until the last inning of a game. The umpire and
managers will determine the start of the “last inning” in the event
of a shortened game. During the last inning, play will continue
through the third out, even if more than 6 runs are scored.
-If a manager does not agree with an umpire's call he or she may
request time out and permission from the umpire to come on the field
to discuss a rule interpretation. Only rule interpretation calls may
be questioned, not judgment calls by the umpire. Managers are
requested to remind parents about this rule and about good
sportsmanship.
